About WS-Management

Web Services for Management (WS-Management) provide true cross-platform (Windows, Linux, ...) remote management capabilities.
WS-Management is standardized by the DMTF (Distributed Management Task Force) an industry organization leading the development, adoption and promotion of interoperable management standards and initiatives.

This standard is already implemented in Windows Vista and also available for older versions of Windows (XP, Server 2003) as a download.
